According to the World Health Organization, 74% of all deaths worldwide (41 million) are from chronic, non-communicable diseases. The majority of such diseases, however, lack critical funding or effective therapies, which is in particular the case in low- and middle-income countries where more than three-quarters of the deaths occur.
