ICMAN (International Conferences on Mechanisms of Action of Nutraceuticals) has presented six international conferences since 2001. They have taken place in Croatia, Austria, U.S.A., Israel, Australia and Scotland. The meetings bring together leading researchers, academics, medical practitioners, industry professionals and government officials to review advances made in the several disciplines of science and medicine dealing with chronic conditions and health/wellness issues in which Nutraceuticals (natural compounds and colloids) can play a part. The approach is oriented to science-based and tested innovations and to having participants discuss and collaborate on a cross-disciplinary basis. The most recent in the series was held in Aberdeen, Scotland on September 27-29, 2017 (see below).
ICNODAT (International Conferences on Novel Diagnostics and Affordable Treatments) is a newly-launched series for which the organizing committee chooses a theme and subject matter focusing on the latest developments in diagnostics and affordable treatments. Programs have focused such issues as the rise of Anti-Microbial Resistance, how to make therapies more widely available and the role of new technologies in diagnostics and patient care.
GHCA (Global Health Collaboration Association) is a mechanism for continuing collaboration among existing organizations, institutions and groups worldwide, including but not limited to those participating in and/or organizing ICMAN and ICNODAT conferences, and its mission is encouraging legacy collaborative activities at all levels.
The 2020/2021 conference series
ILSC is looking to bring its two-conference series, ICMAN and ICNODAT, to several destinations beginning in 2021 for ICMAN and 2020 for ICNODAT, with a mix of international, regional and national meetings scheduled in collaboration between the ILSC International Council and the local Organizing Committees. Partnering with other associations is also appealing as is the case in Aberdeen where ICMAN had joined with IUPHAR Natural Products Biotechnology in organizing the conference. The international meetings are expected to draw 250-500 persons and the national or regional meetings may attract the same or smaller numbers. Essential elements are the availability of a strong local Organizing Committee and/or Partner Association, knowledgeable, motivated and experienced leadership for that group and the likelihood of resources and support for the meeting and the legacy activities under GHCA auspices to follow from the public and private sectors in that destination.
